Library

Joint Use hours will begin on September 21st and will continue through the end of the school year.

News and Opportunities From your Information Resource Center:

Do you want a premium parking place? Are you interested in seeing how the library works and who your student is interacting with? Then, the Information Resource Center is the place for you to be from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM daily. The Information Resource Center is a dynamic place to be any time of the school day, but you should experience it after school; come volunteer and watch the action of a bustling library!

We are looking for parents to help out one day per week after school until 3:30 p.m. (Or share the job with a friend and come every other week). You will be trained to work at the Circulation Desk, checking outbooks, textbooks to 7/8 students and taking fine money. You may be overseeing some 7th and 8th grade volunteers who like to check out books. This is a busy time in the IRC as students wait to be picked up, and your help will be invaluable.

Volunteers are also desperately needed during the lunch hours of 11:10 - 12:45 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, and from 11:45 - 12:45 PM on Thursdays. During these times, parents will help check out books and oversee the Circulation Desk while enjoying the view of students working and socializing both in the library and outside the windows in the adjacent quad.

Your library is currently open from 7:30 AM until 3:30 PM for students. As of Sept. 21, we will be open until 8:00 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is a gift of the Joint Use Committee of La Canada Flintirdge to the students and community members of our city.

Gayle Friedmann is taking sign-ups for interested parents volunteers at 952-3458 or kfdesign@pacbell.net. The first training session will be during the week of October 5th. Looking forward to your help,
