LCHS 7/8 Extracurricular Activities/Sports
HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE CLASS :
Meets Monday and Thursday from 2:45 - 3:45 in Room 714. This is
a place for students to come after school to complete their homework under direct teacher supervision.
While not intended to be a tutoring remediation service, homework support is provided. Only 36 seats
are available for each session, on a first-come, first served basis. 7th and 8th graders are invited.
CROSS COUNTRY:
Fall. Practices are every Monday,
and meets are every Thursday.

7/8 GIRL'S VOLLEYBALL:
7/8 Intramural. Coached by Paul Kim and Mary Weaver. Students should go see
Mr. Kim in room 724 for mor information.
7/8 GIRL'S LACROSSE CLUB:
Experience the newest sport at LCHS! We now have a high school CIF Girls Lacrosse team. See what
Lacrosse is all about and come out for the 7/8th Girls Lacrosse Club. Season runs from October 1st to November 16th.
Practices are Monday and Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Oak Grove Field. Contact LCLacrosse@gmail.com

BOYS WATER POLO:
Practice are Mondays, 6:00pm – 7:30pm
and Friday mornings, 6:30am - 7:30am. Students
should go see Mr. Naev during the morning practice session.
CJSF:
8th Grade student’s membership is based on
7th grade final semester grades. Applications are due Friday, September 21st.
7th grade
students will have an opportunity to join in February, after their first semester

MATH COUNTS:
Monday and Tuesday, during lunch, Room 620
MathCounts is a Math enrichment program designed to prepare 6th -8th graders for participation in a national math competition.
Students should have strong mathematical ability, enthusiasm for problem solving and desire to know more.A school competition
in January will determine which 8 students will take part in the regional competition in February. Regional competition takes place
Saturday morning in February. Others competing usually include teams from the middle school in San Marino, South Pasadena
Middle School, and Polytechnic in Pasadena. Winning teams go to a state competition at UC - Irvine in March.
We will be sending a team of 4 and up to 4 individuals to compete at the regional level.
Each Monday and Tuesday at lunch, students bring lunch in room 620 and work together to solve problems .

AVIATION CLUB:
Now meeting every Monday in room 311 with Mr. Traeger from
3:00 to 5:00; build and fly rubber-powered model airplanes, flying
competitions, aviation history and education, flight simulators, guest speakers, field trips. Come join the fun!
LUNCHTIME ACTIVITIES:
Checkers, chess and board games are being played at lunch on Thursdays in room 732 under the supervision of
Mrs. Salardino and Mrs. Warda. All 7/8 students are invited to bring their lunches and join in the fun.
GIRLS SOCCER: Spring.
BOYS SOCCER: Spring.
FLAG FOOTBALL/TURKEY BOWL
Fall -- The Turkey Bowl, scheduled this year for November 16th, is a fun and friendly competition between Small Schools. In the morning,
Small Schools One and Two play flag football against each other, and in the afternoon, Small Schools Three and Four compete
against each other. Students interested in playing, cheer leading, and/or decorating the bleachers will sign up with P.E. teachers.
More information will be made available in physical education classes and through P.A. announcements in November.
