Those students accepted into CJSF for three semesters (7th grade: 2nd semester, 8th grade; 1st and 2nd semester), meeting al requirements for grades; service; and attendance at monthly meetings will receive a special golden seal on their eight grade promotion certificate.
>8th grade CJSF applications are now available with Ms. Dalbeck (8th Grade Counselor) in the Administration Office. Applications will also be available for download on the 7/8 district website (http://www.lcusd.net/Page/1193); CJSF page. Deadline: Friday, September 27, 2013.
8th grade students are eligible to apply for fall membership based on their 2nd semester grades from 7th grade (June 2013 report card). Current 7th grade students apply in February 2014, once the first semester of 7th grade is complete.
To apply a student needs to earn twice the number of points than courses in which they are enrolled, P.E. does not count. For example, if you are enrolled in 6 classes, you will need a total of 10 points. if you are enrolled in a zero period class, you will need a total of 12 points. CJSF points are awarded as follows:
A = 3 points, B = 1 point, C = 0 points and D/F will exclude student from membership. Likewise, a U in citizenship in any classes will exclude a student from membership.
CJSF students are required to attend monthly meetings, held the second Thursday of each month during homeroom. The first meeting is during HOMEROOM on THURSDAY, October 10 in the AUDITORIUM. Meetings will no longer be held after school. First semester meeting dates are: 10/10, 11/14, 12/12, 1/9 (service hours due 1/9 meeting).
