Dear Parents,
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPALIn response to the tragic event which took place at Crescenta Valley High School(CVHS) on Friday, February 10, 2012, LCHS quickly took action to make sure our crisis response team was ready and equipped with the necessary resources to support our students and families. The administration made the following announcement to the students and staff: Good Morning Spartans, As details of the tragic death at Crescenta Valley High School surface, it is important that we, as a campus, stand together for those students who are showing signs of grief. Many of you have friends who witnessed the event first-hand and this tragedy is hitting you close to home. It is important to know that our counselors and school psychologist will be on call all day to provide support for you during this difficult time. Also, while the details are still not clear, this tragic event brings to light that we must always treat one another with care and respect. If you, or someone you know, reveal signs that they may want to harm themselves, please inform an adult on campus. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Drew Ferraro and his family." The day of the event, Lilia Syed and Megan Thomas, our school psychologists provided all counselors with resources on crisis management. Refer to: http://www.counselor.org/crisis.html Teachers were asked to send students to the counseling office if they appeared to be distraught, and needed to speak with a counselor or school psychologist. ASB students at the high school made a banner sharing their kind thoughts and comments with the students of CVHS. The banner was hand delivered to CVHS on Monday. Best wishes, Anais Wenn
